Release Notes:
Kokerboom is the production moniker of Ed Snug, longtime dub and roots selector from Brighton in England. Ed has been a busy DJ for many years, playing in all kinds of places at all kinds of parties, and has put on countless successful events as part of Legion of Dub. He is known for playing deep and powerful dubwise sets as well as uplifting African beats, roots reggae and all things in between, and is commonly found getting trance backrooms, festivals and fields skanking and grooving to the sweetest sounds around. Kokerboom takes the dub to more psychedelic realms, but is far from the genteel, clinical mellowness of most ‘psydub’ styles. Aimed squarely at large, roots-style soundsystems but tailored for an altered headspace, Kokerboom’s fat dubs are dripping in understated psychedelia and spaced-out dub atmospheres yet with a bone-shaking heavyweight backbone. Produced on 100% midi-based hardware and mixed in the traditional dub style, Kokerboom provides a fresh and forward-thinking sound that is as brazenly electronic as it is deeply rootical, keeping the reggae and psy heads happy in equal measure.
